The Influence of Winding Location in Flux-Switching Permanent-Magnet Machines

    Get PDF
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of winding location on back electromotive force (EMF) and armature inductance in flux-switching permanent-magnet (FSPM) machines. To obtain an analytical solution, a double-stator-pitch model is built based on the equivalent magnetic circuit method. Then, the open-circuit characteristics in FSPM machines with different winding layouts are analyzed by both the analytical model and finite-element-analysis method. The analysis reveals that winding inductance is easier influenced by the winding location than the permanent-magnet flux linkage and corresponding back EMF. Finally, the analytical and finite-element predictions are verified by experimental results

Effective control of electrical and optoelectronic properties of two-dimensional layered materials, one of the key requirements for applications in advanced optoelectronics with multiple functions, has been hindered by the difficulty of elemental doping, which is commonly utilized in Si technology. In this study, we proposed a new method to synthesize hydrophilic MoS2 monolayers through covalently introducing hydroxyl groups during their growth process. These hydroxyl groups exhibit a strong capability of charge trapping, and thus the hydrophilic MoS2 monolayers achieve excellent electrical, optical, and memory properties. Optical memory transistors, made from a single component of monolayer hydrophilic MoS2, exhibit not only excellent light-dependent and time-dependent photoelectric performance, but also good photo-responsive memory characteristics with over multi-bit storage and more than 104 switching ratios. Atomically thin neuromorphic vision systems (with a concept of proof of 10 × 10 neuromorphic visual image) are manufactured from arrays of hydrophilic MoS2 optical memory transistors, showing high quality image sensing and memory functions with a high color resolution. These results proved our new concepts to realize image memorization and simplify the pixel matrix preparation process, which is a significant step toward the development of future artificial visual systems

IntroductionRoot cutting is an important process in garlic field harvesting but is the weakest link in the full mechanization of garlic production. To improve the current situation of technological backwardness and poor operational quality of mechanized garlic root-cutting in the main garlic-producing regions of China, this study combined the physical characteristics and agronomic requirements of garlic plants, and proposed an innovative floating root-cutting technology for garlic combine harvesters that enables the top alignment of bulb, adaptive profiling floating of cutter, and embedded cutting of roots.MethodsThrough the kinematic analysis of the floating cutting process, the coordinate equations of the initial contact point of the bulb, the mathematical model of the floating displacement of the cutting component. Using computer simulation techniques, the dynamic simulation study of the floating cutting process was carried out in the rigid-flexible coupling numerical simulation model of root-cutting mechanism and garlic plant. The influence law of garlic conveying speed, extension spring preload force and stiffness on the floating displacement of the cutting component and the angular velocity of swing arm reset and its formation causes were analyzed by a single-factor simulation test. The key operating parameters of the root-cutting mechanism were optimized through the computerized virtual orthogonal test and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Results and discussionThe significance of the factors affecting the floating cutting performance decreased in the following order: extension spring preload force, garlic conveying speed and extension spring stiffness. The optimal parameter combination of the root cutting mechanism obtained from the optimization were as follow: extension spring preload force was 16 N, garlic conveying speed was 0.8 m/s, and extension spring stiffness was 215 N/m. Tests conducted with the optimal parameter combination yielded a root excision rate of 92.72%, which meets the requirements of Chinese garlic field harvesting quality. This study provides computer simulation optimization methods for the optimal design of the root-cutting mechanism, and also provides technical and equipment support for the full mechanization of garlic production in China

Self-powered photodetectors with great potential for implanted medical diagnosis and smart communications have been severely hindered by the difficulty of simultaneously achieving high sensitivity and fast response speed. Here, we report an ultrafast and highly sensitive self-powered photodetector based on two-dimensional (2D) InSe, which is achieved by applying a device architecture design and generating ideal Schottky or ohmic contacts on 2D layered semiconductors, which are difficult to realize in the conventional semiconductors owing to their surface Fermi-level pinning. The as-fabricated InSe photodiode features a maximal lateral self-limited depletion region and a vertical fully depleted channel. It exhibits a high detectivity of 1.26 × 1013 Jones and an ultrafast response speed of ∼200 ns, which breaks the response speed limit of reported self-powered photodetectors based on 2D semiconductors. The high sensitivity is achieved by an ultralow dark current noise generated from the robust van der Waals (vdW) Schottky junction and a high photoresponsivity due to the formation of a maximal lateral self-limited depletion region. The ultrafast response time is dominated by the fast carrier drift driven by a strong built-in electric field in the vertical fully depleted channel. This device architecture can help us to design high-performance photodetectors utilizing vdW layered semiconductors

BackgroundGastric cancer (GC) ranks as the fifth most prevalent malignancy and the second leading cause of oncologic mortality globally. Despite staging guidelines and standard treatment protocols, significant heterogeneity exists in patient survival and response to therapy for GC. Thus, an increasing number of research have examined prognostic models recently for screening high-risk GC patients.MethodsWe studied DEGs between GC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues in GEO and TCGA datasets. Then the candidate DEGs were further screened in TCGA cohort through univariate Cox regression analyses. Following this, LASSO regression was utilized to generate prognostic model of DEGs. We used the ROC curve, Kaplan-Meier curve, and risk score plot to evaluate the signature’s performance and prognostic power. ESTIMATE, xCell, and TIDE algorithm were used to explore the relationship between the risk score and immune landscape relationship. As a final step, nomogram was developed in this study, utilizing both clinical characteristics and a prognostic model.ResultsThere were 3211 DEGs in TCGA, 2371 DEGs in GSE54129, 627 DEGs in GSE66229, and 329 DEGs in GSE64951 selected as candidate genes and intersected with to obtain DEGs. In total, the 208 DEGs were further screened in TCGA cohort through univariate Cox regression analyses. Following this, LASSO regression was utilized to generate prognostic model of 6 DEGs. External validation showed favorable predictive efficacy. We studied interaction between risk models, immunoscores, and immune cell infiltrate based on six-gene signature. The high-risk group exhibited significantly elevated ESTIMATE score, immunescore, and stromal score relative to low-risk group. The proportions of CD4+ memory T cells, CD8+ naive T cells, common lymphoid progenitor, plasmacytoid dentritic cell, gamma delta T cell, and B cell plasma were significantly enriched in low-risk group. According to TIDE, the TIDE scores, exclusion scores and dysfunction scores for low-risk group were lower than those for high-risk group. As a final step, nomogram was developed in this study, utilizing both clinical characteristics and a prognostic model.ConclusionIn conclusion, we discovered a 6 gene signature to forecast GC patients’ OS. This risk signature proves to be a valuable clinical predictive tool for guiding clinical practice

Abstract Background Prostate cancer (PCa) presents a wide spectrum. Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and Ki-67 index are new biomarkers that can predict prognosis in different types of cancer. We explored the predictive value of their combination on the prognosis of PCa patients after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP). Methods In this retrospective study, 290 patients who underwent LRP at Nanjing Lishui People’s Hospital between January 2016 and February 2021 were enrolled. They were divided into the good prognosis group (N = 235) and poor prognosis group (N = 55) based on the follow-up results. Both the baseline data and postoperative pathological results were collected. The Ki-67 index was determined using immunohistochemical kits, and the patients were allocated to the SII/Ki-67 index high/low expression groups according to the cut-off values to further analyze their relationship with clinical/pathological data of PCa patients. Logistics multivariate regression analysis was utilized to analyze the independent factors affecting post-LRP prognosis of CPa patients. ROC curve was plotted to assess the predictive value for post-LRP prognosis, and Kaplan-Meier curve/Log-rank were used for analysis. Results Significant differences were found in PSA/Gleason score/T stage/lymph node metastasis/seminal vesicle invasion/neutrophils/lymphocytes/platelets/preoperative SII/Ki-67 index between the good/poor prognosis groups. Preoperative SII/Ki-67 were related to PSA/lymphocytes/platelets in PCa. Seminal vesicle invasion and preoperative SII + Ki-67 index were independent factors affecting post-LRP prognosis. Preoperative SII + Ki-67 index had a better predictive value than preoperative SII or Ki-67 index alone. Patients with high preoperative SII and Ki-67 index levels had an increased risk of poor prognosis after LRP. Conclusion Preoperative SII + Ki-67 index had a better predictive value for poor prognosis after LRP than SII or Ki-67 index alone

This study analyzed the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of extreme maximum temperature events (EMTEs) in East China in the last 60 years and investigated the relationship between EMTEs and atmospheric circulation. The arithmetic mean, linear trend, and the Mann–Kendall test were applied to daily maximum temperature (DMT) data (1961–2020) from 345 meteorological observation stations with complete observation records in East China to compile four characteristic indexes of EMTEs: intensity, consecutive days, first days, and last days. The analysis of these indexes revealed the following: (1) The annual number of days with a DMT ≥ 35 °C increased at the rate of 1.45 d/decade (p ≤ 0.05); the mutation occurred in 2009 with a growth rate before and after the mutation of 0.4 and 2.8 d/10a, respectively. Most of the region showed an increasing trend, with the most significant increase to the east of the Yangtze River Delta, in coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian, and south of Jiangxi. (2) The EMTE intensity rose at the rate of 0.15 °C/decade (p ≤ 0.05). Most areas showed a significant upward trend, and the historical extreme values of EMTEs mostly appeared in the 21st century. (3) The annual mean growth rate of consecutive EMTE days was 0.24 d/10a, which increased significantly after 2003. In comparison with 1961–2002, consecutive EMTE days increased by 35% during 2003–2020. The rate of increase was significant (p ≤ 0.05) for most areas east of the Yangtze River Delta, coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian, and areas south of Jiangxi. The mean mutation time was 2003, and the growth rate before and after the mutation was 0.4 and 1.4 d/10a, respectively. (4) The mean first EMTE day advanced and the mean last EMTE day became delayed, especially in the 21st century. Over the study period, the mean first EMTE day advanced by 12 days and the mean last EMTE day became delayed by 7 days. (5) The analysis of National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research reanalysis data indicated that an increasing number of EMTEs have occurred in East China. The reason is that this region experiences atmospheric subsidence resulting from the intensification and westward extension of the subtropical high coupled with the weakening and northward displacement of the mid-latitude westerly trough

FPGA-Based Extended Control Set Model Predictive Current Control with a Simplified Search Strategy for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

    No full text
The conventional finite control set model predictive current control (FCS-MPCC) suffers from suboptimal steady-state performance, primarily due to the limited selection of only eight basic voltage vectors in each control cycle. To overcome this limitation, the proposed extended control set MPCC (ECS-MPCC) utilizes an control set consisting of 818 selectable vectors, enabling a more refined voltage output and achieving a deadbeat response for current control by minimizing the cost function. To mitigate the computational burden resulting from the substantial increase in voltage vectors, a simplified search strategy is devised, which can be extended to other multi-objective cost functions. Remarkably, based on the inherent parallelism of the algorithm, the ECS-MPCC is implemented on an FPGA, further reducing the overall control time of the current loop to an impressive 0.61 μs. Through simulation and experimental tests on a laboratory PMSM driver, the effectiveness of the proposed ECS-MPCC strategy is validated. The experimental results demonstrate a significant reduction of 79% in the total harmonic distortion of phase currents compared to the conventional FCS-MPCC approach. This improvement underscores the superiority of the ECS-MPCC in enhancing the performance of PMSM drives, thereby illustrating its potential for practical implementation in real-world applications
